ตัวอย่างเช่น
What is your family name? นามสกุลของคุณคืออะไร
What is between a pencil and a pen? อะไรอยู่ระหว่างดินสอและปากกา
นอกจากนี้ ที่เรามักใช้กันบ่อยๆ คือ การใช้ What ถามเกี่ยวกับอาชีพ เชื้อชาติ สถานการณ์หรือสถานภาพ
ตัวอย่างเช่น
What do you do? คุณมีอาชีพอะไร
What is your nationality? คุณมีสัญชาติอะไร
สรุปแล้ว เราสามารถ What ใช้ถามคำถามหรือสอบถามข้อมูลได้ในทุกรูปแบบรวมถึงการถามเรื่องเวลาด้วย เช่น
What time is it right now? ตอนนี้เวลากี่โมงแล้ว

ต่อมาคือคำว่า When ซึ่งโดยปกติแล้วจะใช้ถามเพื่อระบุเวลา หรือมีความหมายว่า เมื่อไหร่ นั่นเอง
ตัวอย่างเช่น
When do we start working on the new project? พวกเราจะเริ่มโปรเจคใหม่เมื่อไหร่ดี
When does she come home? หล่อนจะกลับมาที่บ้านเมื่อไหร่
When will they leave the country? พวกเขาจะออกจากประเทศเมื่อไหร่

สุดท้าย Why แปลว่า ‘ทำไม’ จะใช้ในการถามหาเหตุผล ซึ่งโดยปกติแล้วคู่สนทนามักจะตอบด้วยประโยคหรือวลีที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย Because (เพราะว่า) + Reason (เหตุผล) ตัวอย่างเช่น
Why do you come here late? (ทำไมถึงมาสาย)
Because of the traffic jam.
Why does it have to be me? (ทำไมถึงต้องเป็นฉัน)
Because you are the chosen one.
Tips
หากเป็นประโยค What….for? จะใช้ในการถามที่มีความหมายเชิงว่า “เพื่ออะไร” หรือ “ทำไม” คล้ายๆ Why นั่นเอง เช่น
What did you do that for? คุณทำเช่นนี้เพื่ออะไร

We originally wanted to place the country, South Africa, there. However, there was a problem with the number of syllables, the phrasing, and therefore the speed at which the words would have to be delivered in order for them to fit within the song structure.
We worried that at this speed of delivery, learners would not be able to properly hear and, therefore, learn the words in the way we wanted.
This was one of our earliest videos we produced, while the company was at the very beginning of its journey. As such, the software used to produce this song has since been updated and, unfortunately, we are unable to fix the video and remove this harmful stereotype.
