This itinerary was made at the last quarter of 2008. The year, i made an amazing race like tour. Absolutely tiring but worth it! I don’t recommend this kind of itinerary, i must admit that it was one of the most exhausting trips i’ve ever made BUT i just want everyone to know that it’s possible and can be done. With a careful planning and research, this trip can be a success. O well… As the saying goes TIME is GOLD… 😄😄😄

First thing i did was to make a pencil itinerary, like how many days would we want to spent on each country or what places to visit. Then i booked 3 flights on 3 different budget airlines. Here’s my Pencil itinerary:

The Story

DAY 1 – Arrival in KL, Malaysia Our flight to Kuala Lumpur is a 4-hr flight. We decided to booked a flight at Air Asia coz of the promo fares. Around 7 am, we headed to Clark International Airport, it’s about an hour drive from Quezon City.

Updated 2014: *one can ride a bus going to Clark, simply inquire about the schedule of the buses located at Trinoma Mall, Quezon City (To get here: Ride an MRT and alight at North Ave Station, the mall is just beside the station). The terminal is located at the ground floor, near CD R King and Mercury, outside the mall. (To get here: Exit at the main entrance near KFC and JCo, then turn left and walk for 2 mins).

3:40 pm – Arrival – LCCT Airport, Kuala Lumpur This is the budget airport of Kuala Lumpur. It’s a small airport so it’s not hard to find your way out.

4:30 pm – Get Skybus to KL Sentral – 9 MYR The buses are located just outside the airport.

-Kuala Lumpur Train Map

> Upon Arrival To KL Sentral, ride a Monorail, outside KL Sentral terminal.

Verdict:

Location: 😊😊

Cleanliness: ☺☺☺

Recommended: ☺☺☺ Cheap price but try to look for a better options, Looks good on pictures but so so on actual. The only good thing about this hotel is the good view of Petronas Towers and very near to Train Station. During our stay, we’re provided with 1pc brown-colored towels,  look suspicious of the cleanliness that we decided to just buy our own outside the hotel.

7:00 pm – onwards – Dinner -Bland Version of Kenny Rogers

-Stroll along the area (The Mall Shopping Center & World Trade Center Mall)

-View outside our hotel

Tallest Twin Towers in Malaysia consists of business units and Suria KLCC, a shopping mall located at the ground level of the buildings.

8:00 am – Breakfast

8:00 pm – PWTC star LRT to Plaza Rakyat – 1.20 MYR

10:00 pm – Bus trip from KL to Singapore

DAY 4 – Arrival in Singapore

*During this trip, make sure that you have enough coins if you want to use the restrooms during breaks.

*On the arrival point in Singapore, bring all your luggages and your documents for the immigration process. The bus will wait for you at the other side of the building. Make sure to move faster and to be aware of your bus mates. As for our case, we moved too slow and upon exiting, we got confused because there are so many transnasional buses waiting. We were lucky to be helped by one bus driver and drove us to lavender terminal.

3:30 am – Arrival in Singapore (take taxi to hotel) – 15 SGD (7.5/each)

*The bus terminal can’t be considered a literal terminal, it’s more of a big parking lot with a bus stop stand. At first we thought of staying there until the MRT opens, around 5:30 am but since the place is unreliable, we decided to took the taxi to our hotel. Luckily, my companion got some singaporean dollars to keep us through.

-Hotel Lounge

4:00 am – Arrival at Fragrance Selegie Hotel (bring luggage to concierge)

We stayed there for an hour until we’ve decided to walk around towards Mustafa Center. The center is located within walking distance from our hotel. Good thing, it’s open 24 hrs everyday. It’s wee hours in the morning and the entire Singapore is still dark, but we didn’t have any discomfort, and felt safe.

Fragrance Selegie Hotel Website: http://www.fragrancehotel.com

Verdict: Location: ☺☺☺☺

Cleanliness: ☺☺ ☺

Recommended: ☺☺☺ A very small room, not recommended for caucasians, since the walking space can be occupied by your luggages. Everything is small, even the television. Good thing about it is its proximity to the MRT stations and the location is good to everything. It’s relatively clean. Since everything is expensive in Singapore, this is a better option than staying at Red light district.

-The view outside the hotel

-Very small TV situated in an awkward location

> Take SMRT Bus 927 to Singapore Zoo – 1.80 SGD

Singapore Zoo & Night Safari Entrance – 30 SGD

Singapore Night Safari is probably one of the best Zoo i’ve ever been. I’m not usually a zoo person but i’m truly impressed with the set-up. It’s beautiful and you will feel the warmth of being in a real jungle. Upon entering, you will be greeted with some fire dancers. Then you need to proceed at the starting point of the Safari Trip. The entire trip is about an hour ride. Everybody is not allowed to use camera flash since you’ll be visiting a zoo full of unguarded wild animals. There’s also a walking trail for the adventurous ones.

10:00 pm – SMRT Bus 927 to Choa Chu Kang MRT – 1.80 SGD > Choa Chu Kang MRT to Dhouby Ghaut (north-south line) – 1.70 SGD

First House Hotel

Website: http://firsthousebkk.com

Verdict:

Central World

-Beautiful mall decorations

-Market place inside the mall

-Cute Restroom

-Outside Central Plaza

-Cosplayers

Pantip Plaza – more of a bazaar like mall

Platinum Mall – cheap clothes and goods

DAY 9

*Tough day, we’re so exhausted and it’s raining in Bangkok, that’s why we decided to skip our Nong Nooch Tropical Garden tour and proceed with our market shopping at Pratunam Market for souvenirs and Central World for last minute shopping.

6:00 PM – Get luggages and hail a taxi going to the Airport
