This video will help with understanding of this advanced and useful tense! Including is a practice and many examples to help you familiarize yourself and become comfortable using this tense.
When do we use the future perfect?
We use the future perfect to talk about completed future actions that happen before/by a future time or another future action. So we are imagining ourselves in the future having completed some action. Let’s look at some examples of the future perfect:
Before the end of the night, I will have finished all my homework.
When we arrive at the beach, the rain will have stopped.
Before the end of the year, I will have lost forty pounds.
By the time you arrive at dinner, the children will have eaten all the food.
The future perfect phrases in these sentences are:
will have finished
will have stopped
will have lost
will have eaten
You can see we are using the construction: subject +will +have + past participle. This construction is used NO MATTER the subject of the sentence.
