Glass Artist Raven Skyriver makes GIANT glass Sea Turtle! AMAZING
Raven Skyriver is an American Glass artist who focuses mainly on wildlife and the natural world in his expressive glass sculptures. He is known for pushing the limits of the glass medium in his ultra realistic pieces. He has mastered many coloring techniques through the use of frit, powdered glass and color bars to create ultra realistic skin tones and body markings. His hot sculpting skills are unbelievable as well.
Prior to the shooting of this video Raven came prepared with the turtle’s shell, fins and head by presculpting and cutting; using a diamond wheel, cutting through multiple layers of glass to create the pattern on the turtle’s shell, and sandblasting the scales fins. Watch as raven uses many of the same coloring techniques to create the turtle’s body, blow it into the shell and attach the fins and head. This is a dramatic process! Enjoy
