วันนี้เราจะมาเรียนรู้หลักการใช้ Verb to be ทั้ง 7 ตัวกันนะครับ….. ถูกแล้วครับเจ้า Verb to be เนี่ยมันมีหน้าตาต่างกันอยู่ 7 คำเลยครับ  ได้แก่ be, is, am, are, was, were และ been

♦ Verb to be คืออะไร

verb to be ก็คือ คำกริยาที่ชื่อว่า be ส่วนใหญ่จะเรียกชื่อโดยใช้คำว่า to นำหน้า เช่น to be, to do, to have, to go เป็นต้น

คำว่า be เป็นคำรากศัพท์ (คำศัพท์เดิมๆที่ยังไม่เติมแต่งอะไร) แปลว่า เป็น อยู่ คือ หรือบางทีก็ไม่ต้องแปลก็ได้ เช่น

  • I wan to be a doctor. ฉัน ต้องการ ที่จะ เป็น หมอ ( ณ ที่นี้ แปลว่า เป็น)
  • I don’t want to be alone. ฉัน ไม่ ต้องการ ที่จะ อยู่ คนเดียว ( ณ ที่นี้ แปลว่า อยู่)

♦ Verb to be มีอะไรบ้าง

เจ้า Verb to be สามารถแปลงร่างออกได้เป็น 7 คำด้วยกันคือ

  • be, is, am, are
  • was, were
  • been

Verb to be ทั้ง 7 ตัวนี้ แปลว่า เป็นอยู่คือเหมือนกัน แต่หลักการใช้ไม่เหมือนกันนะครับ  เช่น

  • I be a doctor. ผมเป็นหมอ

  • I am a doctor. ผมเป็นหมอ 

    √

  • She am a student. 

    ×

  • She is a student. 

    √

♦ คำแปลของ Verb to be

  • หลัง verb to be เป็นสถานที่ แปลว่า อยู่
  • หลัง verb to be เป็นคำนามทั่วไป แปลว่า เป็น คือ
  • หลัง verb to be เป็นคำคุณศัพท์ ไม่ต้องแปล

♦ หลักการใช้ Verb to be ทั้ง 7 ตัว

 – การใช้ be

คำว่า be เป็นรากศัพท์ จะตามหลัง to และ กริยาช่วยทั้งหลาย เช่น

  • I want to be here with you.
    ฉัน ต้องการ ที่จะ อยู่ ที่นี่ กับคุณ
  • It can be a cat.
    มัน อาจจะ เป็น แมวก็ได้
  • She will be free tomorrow.
    หล่อน จะ ว่างพรุ่งนี้ (be ไม่ต้องแปล หลัง be คือคำคุณศัพท์)
  • Everything will be alright. Don’t worry.
    ทุกอย่าง จะ ดี (เป็นไปด้วยดี) อย่า กังวล

– การใช้ is am are

is am are จะใช้ใน present simple tense และ present continuous tense (ปัจจุบันกาล)  และ is am are จะต้องใช้ให้สอดคล้องกับประธานของประโยค ดังนี้ ถ้าใช้ไม่ถูกตามนี้จะผิดหลักภาษาเขา

    ผม เป็น ผู้ชาย
  • He is tall.
    เขา ตัวสูง (is ไม่ต้องแปล หลัง is คือ คำคุณศัพท์)
  • She is a girl.
    หล่อน เป็น เด็กหญิง
  • It is a cat.
    มัน คือ แมว
  • You are in the room.
    คุณ อยู่ ใน ห้อง
  • We are from Thailand.
    พวกเรา มาจาก ประเทศไทย
  • They are rich.
    พวกเขารวย

– การใช้ was were

was were จะใช้ใน past simple tense และ past continuous tense (อดีตกาล)  และ was were จะต้องใช้ให้สอดคล้องกับประธานของประโยค ดังนี้ ถ้าใช้ไม่ถูกตามนี้จะผิดหลักภาษาเขา

been ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นกริยาช่วยไปประกอบกับ perfect tense จะไม่มีความหมายในตัวเอง เช่น

    ฉัน เล่น ฟุตบอล มา 30 นาทีแล้ว

  • I had

    been

    playing football for 30 munites when it started to rain.
    ฉัน เล่น ฟุตบอล มา 30 นาทีแล้ว ตอนที่ ฝน เริ่ม ตก

  • I will have

    been

    playing football for 30 munites when you  arrive.
    ฉัน จะ เล่น ฟุตบอล ผ่านไปแล้ว 30 นาที ตอนที่ คุณ มาถึง

ถ้าใครยังงงๆ แนะนำให้ศึกษาเรื่อง ⇒ Tense 12 ⇐ ให้แตกฉานนะครับ จะได้ไม่งง

คำว่า been ต่อไปนี้ มีความหมายว่า ไปอยู่ที่นั่นมา หรือ ไปมาแล้ว เช่น

I have been to Thailand. ฉันไปประเทศไทยมาแล้ว

Where have you been ? คุณ ไปอยู่ ที่ไหนมา (ไปไหนมา)
