มารู้จัก ศัพท์แชท วัยรุ่นอเมริกันกันเถอะ
บรรดาเหล่าวัยรุ่นวัย เรียนสมัยนี้ ส่วนใหญ่แล้วก็คงเป็นนักท่องอินเตอร์เน็ตกันทั้งนั้น แถมยังมีกิจกรรมหลักที่ต้องทำทุกครั้งเมื่อเข้าใช้งานอินเตอร์เน็ต ก็คือการแชทอีกด้วย ทำให้คุ้นชินกับภาษาแปลกๆที่เขียนรูป ผิดหลักไวยากรณ์หรือหลักการใช้ภาษาไทยกันจนเป็นเรื่องธรรมดา ทั้งนี้รวมถึงคำแสลงต่างๆที่มักใช้กันมากเวลาแชท คำประเภทนี้คงไม่ทำให้วัยรุ่นไทยอย่างคุณงุนงงและคงเข้าใจความหมาย อ่านได้คล่องกว่าผู้ใหญ่มาก แต่หากคุณเกิดมีเพื่อนเป็นวัยรุ่นอเมริกัน คุณก็ควรจะรู้จักคำต่อไปนี้ไว้สำหรับการสื่อสารผ่านโลกออนไลน์ด้วย
‘A/S/L’ คำนี้มักเจอบ่อยมาก กรณีที่แชทกับคนไม่รู้จักหรือต้องการชวนเพื่อนใหม่มาคุยด้วย ซึ่ง A/S/L นั้นหมายถึง Age/Sex/Location ก็คือการถาม อายุ-เพศ-ที่อยู่ นั่นเอง
‘Aite’ มาจากคำว่า Alright ที่แปลว่า ดี โอเค เช่น I’m aite
‘BTW’ มาจาก By the way (อย่างไรก็ตาม) ใช้เวลาต้องการเปลี่ยนเรื่องคุย เช่น I’ve been in USA for 2 years BTW , will you got to school today? แปลว่า ฉันอยู่อเมริกามาได้ 2 ปีแล้ว อย่างไรก็ตามว่าแต่วันนี้เธอไปโรงเรียนหรือเปล่า
‘Bush’ แปลว่า บ้านนอก ความหมายเดิมของคำ แปลว่า พุ่มไม้ หย่อมหญ้า มักใช้ว่าหรือประณาม …เช่น You’re Bush !!
‘Comfy’ มาจากคำว่า Comfortable ที่แปลว่า สะดวกสบาย เช่น This shirt is so comfy (เสื้อเชิ้ตนี่มันใส่สบายมาก)
‘Google’ แปลว่า ค้นหา มีที่มาจากเว็บไซด์ Google นั่นเอง ซึ่งอาจไม่ได้หมายถึงการหาจาก Google ก็ได้ เช่น
A : what are you doing?
B : google for math presentation.
‘Kewl’ มาจากคำว่า Cool นั่นเองโดยออกเสียงเหมือนกัน ใช้เมื่องต้องการแปลว่า เจ๋ง ดี เท่
‘Mate’ ใช้เรียกแทนเชื่อเพื่อน หรือ แทนคำว่า you เช่น Hi Mate ! how are you doing? นอกจากนี้ยังอาจใช้คำว่า Mite แทนได้อีกคำหนึ่ง
‘Ola’ แปลว่า สวัสดี คำนี้นิยมมากในหมู่วัยรุ่นฮิพฮอพ มีที่มาจากพวกละตินอเมริกันที่เข้ามาอยู่ในนิวยอร์คที่เดิมทีพูดภาษาสเปน เลยนำคำว่า Hola ของสเปน ที่แปลว่า สวัสดี มาใช้จนเพี้ยนกลายเป็น Ola
Nah , Na มาจากคำว่า No ที่แปลว่า ไม่
IDC ใช้เป็นคำย่อ มาจาก I don’t care หรือ ฉันไม่แคร์
‘Ta’ เป็นคำย่อ มาจากคำว่า Thank you ที่แปลว่า ขอบคุณ
‘LOL’ เป็นอีกคำที่เจอบ่อยมาก มาจาก Laughing out loud ใช้เพื่อสื่อว่าตนเองหัวเราะ เหมือนกับการพิมพ์ ‘555+’ ของวัยรุ่นไทยนั่นเอง
คำต่างๆ ข้างต้นที่กล่าวไปนั้น เป็นเพียงคำส่วนหนึ่งที่วัยรุ่นอเมริกันนิยมใช้ในการแชท ซึ่งหากรู้ไว้เป็นความรู้รอบตัวก็คงจะทำให้การแชทของคุณกับเพื่อนชาวต่าง ประเทศเป็นไปอย่างราบรื่นมากขึ้น แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม การใช้ภาษาให้ถูกต้องตามหลักไวยากรณ์ไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาษาไทยหรือภาษาอังกฤษย่อม เป็นสิ่งที่ดีที่สุด เพราะนอกจากจะเป็นการรักษาเอกลักษณ์ของภาษาแล้ว ยังทำให้เราเป็นคนที่ใช้คำได้ถูกต้องทั้งการพูดและการเขียนอีกด้วย

In this YouTube video I have changed the order of the briefing to increase realism as you will find out that giving the PADI Regulator Removal, Recovery and Clearing IDC Skill in the order of the PADI Confined Water Presentation Slate will feel a bit robotic. I have talked to many PADI Examiners and all say that you can change the order in the briefing if the message comes over clearly and if the IDC candidate feels more comfortable with it.
A few recommendations to make the briefing realistic, but not go out of scope on a PADI IDC course:
To make sure 100% the objective is ok, I recommend to say it word for word from the PADI Instructor Manual. You can memorise it for increase of realism or use the PADI confined water performance requirement slates.
Try to make the value as positive as possible, if not then try to at least not scare the students.
Please do give the signal of the PADI Regulator Removal, Recovery and Clearing IDC Skill, but you don’t have to say more signals if you integrate them in the PADI Regulator Removal, Recovery and Clearing IDC Skill description or if it is a surface diving skill you can just talk to the students.
