* Aux. = Auxiliary Verb หรือ Helping Verb คือกริยาที่วางด้านหน้ากริยาหลักเพื่อช่วยทำให้ประโยคสมบูรณ์

** V.inf = Verb infinitive คือกริยาที่เป็น base form (รากหรือต้นฉบับของกริยา) ห้ามเติมแต่ง

ไม่เหมือนกับ V.1 เพราะกริยาช่องที่หนึ่งจะมีการเติม s/es หลังคำกริยา เมื่อประธานเป็นเอกพจน์

*** cannot ห้ามเว้นวรรคระหว่างคำ

สถานการณ์ที่ใช้ Present Simple Tense

1) ใช้กับเรื่องที่เป็นข้อเท็จจริง, กฎธรรมชาติ, กฎทางวิทยาศาสตร์, ข้อมูลข่าวสาร คือ ต้องเป็นจริงเสมอ 

• Light travels faster than sound.  (แสงเดินทางเร็วกว่าเสียง)

• Dinosaurs are extinct. (ไดโนเสาร์สูญพันธุ์ไปแล้ว)

• Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. (น้ำเดือดที่หนึ่งร้อยองศาเซลเซียส)

• I am fifteen years old girl. (ฉันเป็นเด็กสาวอายุสิบห้าปี)

 

2) ใช้กับเรื่องที่เกิดขึ้นซ้ำ ๆ เป็นประจำ เช่น เทศกาลต่าง ๆ

• We celebrate Christmas on December 25. (เราเฉลิมฉลองคริสต์มาสกันวันที่ 25 ธันวาคม)

• I wash my hair every other day. (ฉันสระผมวันเว้นวัน)

• They go to London once a year. (พวกเขาไปลอนดอนปีละครั้ง)

** ให้ดู adverb of frequency ประกอบด้วย เพื่อดูความถี่ของเหตุการณ์ (เรียนเพิ่มเติมในบท adverb)

แถม! everyday VS every day แตกต่างกันยังไง?

everyday (adj.) ต้องการคำนามตามหลังเสมอ

ex. He wants to wear an everyday outfit to the ceremony.

every day (adj. + n.) ไม่ต้องมีคำนามตามหลังแล้ว

ex. He wears the same outfit every day.

 

3) ใช้กับนิสัยหรือรสนิยมความชอบส่วนตัว

• She likes cats. (เราเฉลิมฉลองคริสต์มาสกันวันที่ 25 ธันวาคม)

• I am not a morning person. (ฉันไม่ใช่คนชอบตื่นเช้า)

• We hate homework. (พวกเราเกลียดการบ้าน)

 

4) ใช้กับสุภาษิต คำพังเพย หรือคำคมต่าง ๆ

• Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. (อย่ากินบนเรือนขี้รดบนหลังคา)

• Don’t count your chickens before they are hatched. (สงครามยังไม่จบ อย่าเพิ่งนับศพทหาร)

• As you sow, so you reap. (ทำดีได้ดี ทำชั่วได้ชั่ว)

• Actions speak louder than words. (การกระทำสำคัญกว่าคำพูด)

 

5) ใช้กับเรื่องที่จะเกิดขึ้นเร็ว ๆ นี้ มักวางแผนไว้แล้ว ถูกกำหนดไว้แน่นอนแล้ว (มักเป็นเรื่องการเดินทาง)

• The bus leaves tonight at 8:30 pm. (รถเมล์ออกเดินทางคืนนี้สองทุ่มครึ่ง)

• The movie starts in 20 minutes. (หนังเริ่มอีกยี่สิบนาทีข้างหน้า)

• What time does the conference start tomorrow? (พรุ่งนี้การประชุมเริ่มกี่โมง)

 

การทำประโยคบอกเล่าให้เป็นประโยคปฏิเสธ และ ประโยคคำถาม

กรณีที่ 1 : เป็นคำถาม yes/no

ถ้าในประโยคมี Verb to be ( is,  am,  are หรือ was, were)

ทำให้เป็นปฏิเสธโดยการเติม not หลัง verb to be ได้เลย เช่น

– I am a good cook. 🡪 I am not a good cook.

ทำให้เป็นคำถามโดยการเอา verb to be มาไว้หน้าสุด เช่น

– I am a good cook. 🡪 Am I a good cook? **อย่าลืมใส่ ? ท้ายคำถามนะคะทุกคน

เวลาตอบคำถามประเภทนี้ก็ตอบทวนคำถาม เช่น Yes, you are. / No, you are not.

 

ถ้าในประโยคมี Verb to have (have, has, had)

ให้เอา Do กับ Does มาช่วยโดยการเอามาวางไว้หน้า verb to have (จะใช้ do หรือ does ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับประธาน)

Do + ประธานพหูพจน์

Does + ประธานเอกพจน์

** ยกเว้นในกรณีถามประสบการณ์ใน Perfect tense จะใช้

S + verb to have + never… ในปฏิเสธ

verb to have + S + ever + …? ในคำถาม

ทำให้เป็นปฏิเสธโดยการเติม not หลัง do/does ได้เลย เช่น

– He has a big house. 🡪 He does not have a big house.

ทำให้เป็นคำถามโดยการเอา do/does มาไว้หน้าสุด เช่น

– He has a big house. 🡪 Does he have a big house?

เวลาตอบคำถามประเภทนี้ก็ตอบทวนคำถาม เช่น Yes, he does. / No, he doesn’t.

 

ถ้าในประโยคมี Modal verb (can, should, must)

ทำให้เป็นปฏิเสธโดยการเติม not หลัง Modal verb ได้เลย เช่น

– This bird can fly. 🡪 This bird cannot fly.  **ไม่ต้องเว้นวรรคระหว่าง can กับ not

– I should go outside. 🡪 I should not go outside.

ทำให้เป็นคำถามโดยการเอา Modal verb มาไว้หน้าสุด เช่น

– This bird can fly. 🡪 Can this bird fly?

– I should go outside. 🡪 Should I go outside?

เวลาตอบคำถามประเภทนี้ก็ตอบทวนคำถาม เช่น Yes, it can. / No, it can’t.

 

ถ้าในประโยคมีกริยาอื่น ๆ นอกเหนือจากข้างบน

ให้เอา Do กับ Does มาช่วยโดยการเอามาวางไว้หน้าคำกริยา (จะใช้ do หรือ does ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับประธาน)

ทำให้เป็นปฏิเสธโดยการเติม not หลัง do/does ได้เลย เช่น

– We go to school together. 🡪 We do not go to school together.

ทำให้เป็นคำถามโดยการเอา do/does มาไว้หน้าสุด เช่น

– I love you. 🡪 Do you love me?

เวลาตอบคำถามประเภทนี้ก็ตอบทวนคำถาม เช่น Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.

 

กรณีที่ 2 : เป็นคำถามที่ต้องการคำตอบเป็นข้อมูลไม่ใช่ yes/no

ให้นำคำถามขึ้นต้นประโยค (Wh- question) มาไว้ด้านหน้าประโยคคำถามแบบ yes/no ได้เลย

• What = อะไร มักใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับสิ่งของ เวลาวันที่

  เช่น

What is your favorite animal?

What time is it?

• Where = ที่ไหน มักใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับสถานที่

  เช่น

Where do we meet?

Where are you?

• When = เมื่อไร มักใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับวันเวลา

  เช่น

When is Christmas?

When will they sleep?

• Why = ทำไม มักใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับเหตุผล

  เช่น

Why are you so cute?

Why did you do that?

• Who = ใคร มักใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับคน

  เช่น

Who does he like?

Who is she?

• Whose = ของใคร มักใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับความเป็นเจ้าของ (ถามว่าเป็นของใคร)

  เช่น

Whose pen is it?

Whose are these?

• Whom = ใคร มักใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับคนเหมือน who แต่คนที่ถูกพูดถึงจะต้องเป็นกรรม

  เช่น

Whom are you waiting for?

Whom do you serve?

• Which = อันไหน/สิ่งไหน มักใช้ถามเวลาให้เลือกสิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่ง

  เช่น

Which dress do you like?

Which is nicer?

• How = อย่างไร/เท่าไร มักใช้ถามเรื่องราคา จำนวน สุขภาพ อายุ ความถี่ วิธีการทำ

  เช่น

How much is this?

How many pets do you have?

How do you do? หรือ How are you?
