คำแนะนำ : คุณควรรู้จักบริษัทที่คุณสมัคร และรู้ถึงข่าวสารล่าสุดที่บอกถึงทิศทางที่บริษัทกำลังจะไป และที่สำคัญคุณต้องรู้ว่าตำแหน่งคุณต้องเข้ามาแก้ปัญหาในด้านไหน

 

สำหรับการตอบคำถามให้ตอบว่า “ทำไมคุณถึงเป็นผู้สมัครที่เหมาะสมที่สุดสำหรับตำแหน่งนี้” คุณจะเข้ามาช่วยสร้างอะไรให้กับบริษัท และคุณจะได้อะไรตอบแทนที่นอกเหนือจากตัวเงิน เช่น ความต้องการพิสูจน์ตัวเอง เป็นต้น

I am an excellent employee, and I didn’t want my unhappiness to have any impact on the job I was doing for my employer.” ผมพบว่าผมเบื่องานเดิมและต้องการมองหาความท้าทายใหม่ๆ ผมเป็นลูกจ้างที่ดีนะครับ และผมไม่ต้องการให้ “ความรู้สึกไม่มีความสุข” ของผมนั้นมากระทบกับงานที่ทำที่บริษัทเดิมครับ

 

คุณกำลังมองหาความก้าวหน้า — “There isn’t room for growth with my current employer, and I’m ready to move on to a new challenge.” ผมไม่มีโอกาสได้ก้าวหน้าในที่ทำงานเดิมเลยครับ และผมเองพร้อมแล้วที่จะเจอความท้าทายใหม่ๆ

 

คุณโดนเลย์ออฟมา — “I was laid off from my last position when our department was eliminated due to corporate restructuring.” ผมถูกให้ออกเพราะแผนกที่ผมทำงานอยู่ถูกยุบ เนื่องจากบริษัทนั้นได้ทำการปรับโครงสร้างองค์กรครับ

 

คุณมีเหตุผลส่วนตัว — “I’m relocating to this area due to family circumstances and left my previous position in order to make the move.” ผมย้ายมายังที่นี่เนื่องจากสถานการณ์ทางด้านครอบครัวของผมครับ ผมจึงต้องลาออกจากงานเดิมมา

คุณเพิ่งเรียนจบ — “I recently received my degree, and I want to utilize my educational background in my next position.” ผมเพิ่งได้รับปริญญามา และผมต้องการใช้ความสามารถจากพื้นฐานการศึกษาที่ผมมีกับงานใหม่นี้ครับ

 

คุณเบื่อการเดินทาง — “I was commuting to the city and spending a significant amount of time each day on travel. I would prefer to be closer to home.” ผมเคยต้องเดินทางเข้าเมืองและใช้เวลาอย่างมากมายในการเดินทาง ผมจึงอยากที่จะได้ทำงานใกล้บ้านมากขึ้นน่ะครับ

 

คุณโดนให้ออก — “The company was cutting back and, unfortunately, my job was one of those eliminated.” บริษัทเก่าลดต้นทุน และโชคร้ายที่งานของผมก็เป็นหนึ่งตำแหน่งที่โดนโละครับ

 

ข้อควรระวัง : อย่าด่าเจ้านายเก่า! เพราะโลกธุรกิจนั้นเชื่อมโยงกันไปหมด เผลอๆบริษัทเก่าที่คุณลาออกมา กลับกลายเป็นลูกค้าหรือพาร์ทเนอร์เจ้าสำคัญของบริษัทใหม่ที่คุณอาจไม่เคยรู้มาก่อนก็เป็นได้ ซึ่งผู้สัมภาษณ์คงไม่อยากจ้างคนที่ด่า “ลูกค้าคนสำคัญ” ของเขาอย่างเสียๆหายๆใช่ไหมล่ะครับ

– คุณรับมือกับความเครียดและความกดดันอย่างไรบ้าง –

 

คำแนะนำ : คำถามข้อนี้ สิ่งที่ผู้สัมภาษณ์อยากรู้มากที่สุดคือ “ความเครียดปริมาณมากแค่ไหน ที่จะส่งผลต่อการทำงานของคุณ” และคุณจะจัดการมันได้อย่างไรโดยไม่กระทบกับการทำงานในแต่ละวัน คุณสามารถตอบโดยเล่าถึงสถานการณ์ในอดีตว่าคุณเคยจัดการกับปัญหาที่สร้างความเครียดให้คุณอย่างไรบ้าง คุณอาจบอกว่าเคสที่คุณเล่านั้นได้ทำให้คุณเครียด แต่ความเครียดปริมาณดังกล่าวทำให้คุณรู้สึกตั้งใจทำงานมากขึ้น และทำให้คุณรู้สึกท้าทาย เป็นต้น

 

ถ้าความเครียดที่เคยเกิดขึ้นกับคุณเป็นความเครียดที่เกิดขึ้นโดยปกติตามเนื้องาน (ซึ่งมักจะหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้) คุณไม่ควรกล่าวถึงมันนะครับ เช่น ถ้าคุณสมัครงานตำแหน่งพนักงานขาย แต่คุณบอกผู้สัมภาษณ์ว่าคุณเครียดเวลาต้องคุยกับคนเยอะๆ (อ้าว…) หรือคุณสมัครเป็นโปรเจ็คแมเนเจอร์ แต่ดันไปบอกว่าเครียดเวลาทำงานหลายๆอย่างพร้อมกัน (เอ๊ะ!) แบบนี้คงหมดโอกาสได้งานกันพอดีจริงไหมครับ

 

ตัวอย่างการตอบที่คุณสามารถนำไปใช้ได้ก็คือ…

 

“I actually work better under pressure, and I’ve found that I enjoy working in a challenging environment.” จริงๆแล้วดิฉันสามารถทำงานได้ดีขึ้นภายใต้ความกดดันนะคะ ดิฉันพบว่าดิฉันนั้นชอบทำงานในสภาวะที่ท้าทายความสามารถค่ะ”

 

“I find that when I’m under the pressure of a deadline, I can do some of my most creative work.” ดิฉันพบว่าเมื่อดิฉันอยู่ในสภาวะที่ถูกกดดันด้วยวันเด้ดไลน์ ดิฉันจะสามารถทำงานได้อย่างมีความคิดสร้างสรรค์มากที่สุด

 

หรือจะบอกว่า “I react to situations, rather than to stress. That way, the situation is handled and doesn’t become stressful.” ดิฉันเลือกที่จะจัดการกับสถานการณ์นั้นมากกว่าจะมานั่งเครียดกับมันนะคะ ด้วยวิธีนี้ทำให้ดิฉันควบคุมสถานการณ์นั้นไว้ได้และไม่เกิดเป็นความเครียดค่ะ
