So they're made to help the LOOK and FLOW of a sentence more than anything. Both commas/periods can be used in place of and still be mechanically correct; they moreso allow sentence structure to be more nuanced. Finally, I think I get it.

No one taught me ever how to use a semi colon. I tried to use it myself after I read a lot sentences with semicolons in books and it turned out, I was half correct. I'm still surprised by this

Not a good video. Semi-colons connect two related SENTENCES, not a sentence and an incomplete sentence.
My grammar levelled up; pun intended
In greek it can be double confusing since the same symbol is used as a quetionmark.
