The main difference is this: with passive vocabulary, you can’t use it when speaking, but with active vocabulary, you can.
Before you try making more passive vocabulary active, it’s a good idea to concentrate on the type of English that you will need.
For example, if you’re using English for finance, then focus on financial vocabulary.
To make this possible, you need to use it. Additionally, there are some methods that will help you make passive vocab active. And, the more you hear and read a word, the more you will be able to use it.
