Present Perfect with Just: Use the Present Perfect Simple in an Advanced Way In this video, you will learn how to use the present perfect and just to talk about actions that happened in the recent past.
I share plenty of examples to help you understand how to use this combination. Also, be sure to turn on the subtitles.

Hello. This is Jack from tofluency.com and in this video, you’re going to learn how you can use the present perfect and just together. So, let’s get straight into it and I’m going to show you an example of how I used this.
The weather is fantastic. I’ve just spent the entire morning working on the porch. And I’m looking forward to doing more of that over the spring and summer. In the video, I said, \”The weather is fantastic. I’ve just spent the entire morning working on the porch. And I’m looking forward to doing more of that over the spring and summer.\”
So, when we’re using the present perfect and just, what we’re doing is talking about something that happened in the very recent past. When I filmed the video, that you’ve just seen, just before that I was working on the porch. That’s why I said, \”I’ve just spent the entire morning working on the porch.\” Here are some more examples now to help you better understand it.
Dave says, \”Have you been here long?\” And Sarah says, \”No. I’ve just got here.\” This means that Sarah arrived in the very recent past.
A boss says, \”Have you finished it yet?\” The worker says, \”No, sorry, I’ve just started it. I’ll finish it soon though.\” So again, the worker started this project in the very recent past.
And one more example, \”My friend has just registered for a yoga class.\” So again, my friend registered for a yoga class in the very recent past.
Now, in American English and other version of English, you will also hear the past simple with just. This is correct too. So, know that you can use both the present perfect and the past simple with just and they both mean the same thing. So, here is an example, \”My friend just registered for that yoga class.\”
