คุยกับทงเฮและอึนฮยอกจาก SUPER JUNIOR-D&E ถึงคอนเซ็ปต์ในอัลบั้มล่าสุด สิ่งที่พัฒนาขึ้นหลังจากอยู่ในวงการมา 16 ปี และโมเมนต์ที่ประทับใจใน E.L.F ไทย

ย้อนกลับไปเมื่อ 10 กว่าปีที่แล้ว ไอดอลเกาหลีวงแรกๆ ที่คนที่ไม่ได้ฟังเพลงเกาหลียังรู้จักคงหนีไม่พ้น SUPER JUNIOR ด้วยจำนวนสมาชิกที่มีมากถึง 13 คน ถือเป็นเรื่องที่แปลกใหม่มากในวงการไอดอลเกาหลีในยุคสมัยนั้น และด้วยคอนเซ็ปต์อันหลากหลายของวงที่เปลี่ยนไปตามสไตล์ของสมาชิกแต่ละคน จึงทำให้เป็นวงที่มีซับยูนิต (วงย่อย) มากที่สุดวงหนึ่งเช่นกัน และหนึ่งในนั้นคือ SUPER JUNIOR-D&E ที่เป็นการจับคู่เพื่อนซี้ ทงเฮ และอึนฮยอก ที่ถ้าให้นึกย้อนกลับไป ตัวพวกเขาเองก็ไม่คาดคิดว่ายูนิตของเขาจะผ่านมาแล้ว 10 ปีเช่นกัน

ทำไมถึงตั้งชื่ออัลบั้ม SUPER JUNIOR-D&E ว่า COUNTDOWN

ทงเฮ: พวกเราพูดกันว่า มาปล่อย 10 คอนเทนต์กันเถอะ! เริ่มจาก 10 จนถึง 0 เราทำแบบนี้ๆๆ แล้วสุดท้ายพอถึง “ZERO” เราก็คุยกันเกี่ยวกับจุดเริ่มต้นของ SUPER JUNIOR-D&E นั่นคือเหตุผลว่า ทำไมเราถึงตั้งชื่ออัลบั้มนี้ว่า COUNTDOWN ทำไมถึงมีนาฬิกาทรายอยู่ข้างคอนเทนต์ของพวกเรา และมีการนับวันที่ถอยหลังจาก 10, 9, 8, 7… ไปเรื่อยๆ ครับ

ZERO หมายถึงกลับไปจุดเริ่มต้น หรือเริ่มต้นใหม่ได้ด้วย คุณอยากย้อนกลับไปเริ่มอะไรใหม่ในอดีตหรือไม่

ทงเฮ: รีเซ็ตแล้วกลับไปอดีตเหรอครับ…

อึนฮยอก: ผมไม่อยากรีเซ็ตอะไรเลยครับ

ทงเฮ: ผมเองก็เหมือนกันครับ

อึนฮยอก: เพราะว่าผมมาไกลในการสร้างสิ่งที่ผมมีอย่างทุกวันนี้ แต่ถ้าต้องให้เริ่มต้นทุกอย่างใหม่ทั้งหมดอีกครั้ง ผมคิดว่ามันคงยากเกินไปครับ

ทงเฮ: นั่นก็จริงครับ ทุกอย่างมีเหตุผลของมันครับ มันมีเหตุผลว่าเราเริ่มต้นกันมาได้อย่างไร และพวกเราทำอะไรไปบ้างตลอด 10 ปีที่ผ่านมา ดังนั้น ผมไม่มีอะไรที่จำเป็นต้องไปรีเซ็ต หรือว่าเริ่มต้นใหม่อีกครั้งครับ

อึนฮยอก: และพวกเราไม่มีอะไรที่ต้องเสียใจครับ

ทงเฮ: ถ้าเราทำงานในอัลบั้มถัดไปหลังจากนี้ ผมก็อยากที่จะทำมันให้ดีขึ้นแหละครับ แต่ว่าผมคงไม่มีอะไรที่จะต้องเริ่มต้นใหม่ครับ

อึนฮยอก: ใช่แล้วครับ

แต่งเพลงเก่งกันทั้งคู่แบบนี้ มีเพลงไหนของอีกคนที่ชอบมากๆ บ้างไหม

ทงเฮ: สำหรับผมคือเพลง “be” ครับ

อึนฮยอก: โอ้~ เพลง “be” เยี่ยมไปเลยครับ

ทงเฮ: มันมีสไตล์ที่แปลกใหม่ ตอนนี้ผมเลยชอบเพลง “be” ครับ

อึนฮยอก: ถ้าผมต้องเลือกจากเพลงในอัลบั้มใหม่ของพวกเรา เพลงที่ชื่อว่า “Home” นั้น…

ทงเฮ: ครับ~ เพลง “Home”

อึนฮยอก: เพลงที่ชื่อว่า “Home” นั้น… ผมชอบมากๆ เลยครับ

ทงเฮ: การต้องเลือกแค่เพลงเดียวนี่… มันเจ็บหัวใจมากเลยครับ เพราะว่าพวกเรารักเพลงของเราทุกเพลงครับ

อึนฮยอก: ใช่ครับ

ทงเฮ: มันยากที่สุดเสมอ เวลาที่ต้องมาเลือกลิสต์เพลงสำหรับคอนเสิร์ตครับ

อึนฮยอก: จริงครับ

ทงเฮ: มีทั้งเพลงที่แฟนๆ E.L.F. ของพวกเราอยากฟัง และก็มีเพลงที่พวกเราอยากโชว์ให้แฟนๆ ดูด้วยครับ

อึนฮยอก: นั่นคือความกังวลของพวกเราเสมอครับ เพราะฉะนั้น ผมเลยอยากจะโชว์ทุกเพลงที่เรายังไม่ได้โชว์ ให้กับแฟนๆ ของเราแบบเป็นเมดเล่ย์ครับ

ทงเฮ: ว้าว ฟังดูน่าจะเหนื่อยเลยนะครับ

อึนฮยอก: ผมอยากจะให้แฟนๆ ได้ฟังครบทุกเพลงไปเลยครับ

ผ่านมา 16 ปีแล้วตั้งแต่เดบิวต์ในวง SUPER JUNIOR มีส่วนไหนที่คิดว่าตัวเองโตขึ้นบ้างไหม และอยากพัฒนาตัวเองในจุดไหนให้มากขึ้นอีกบ้าง

อึนฮยอก: ในด้านของดนตรี โดยเฉพาะทงเฮเขาเขียนเพลงเองเยอะมาก รวมถึงของ SUPER JUNIOR และ SUPER JUNIOR-D&E ด้วยครับ ซึ่งผมคิดว่าเขาพัฒนาในด้านดนตรีเยอะมากเลยครับ และผมรอก็ติดตามผลงานของเขาในอนาคตด้วยครับ

ทงเฮ: สำหรับอึนฮยอก เขาคิดเยอะมากๆ เกี่ยวกับอัลบั้ม การเขียนเนื้อเพลง และท่อนแร็ปครับ แต่ผมคิดว่าเขาพัฒนามากในส่วนของการกำกับ และเขาก็กำลังขยายความรู้ของเขาไปในอีกหลายๆ ด้านครับ นอกจากงานพัทยามิวสิคเฟสติวัลที่เป็นคอนเสิร์ตต่างประเทศครั้งแรกแล้ว

มีความทรงจำอื่นๆ ที่ประทับใจในประเทศไทย หรือกับแฟนๆ ชาวไทยอีกไหม

อึนฮยอก: และผมจำได้ที่เป็นลานอยู่ด้านหน้าห้างสยามพารากอนครับ

ทงเฮ: อ๋าา~~

อึนฮยอก: ตอนนั้นพวกเราจัดงานแฟนมีตติ้ง หรือว่างานแจกลายเซ็นนี่ล่ะครับ ผมจำได้ว่า ได้เห็น E.L.F. ชาวไทยของพวกเรามารวมตัวกันเยอะมากๆ ครับ

ทงเฮ: ใช่ครับ

หลังหมดโควิด ถ้าได้มาไทย อยากทำอะไรและบอกอะไรกับแฟนๆ ชาวไทยบ้าง

ทงเฮ: แน่นอนครับ ผมอยากบอกว่า “ผมคิดถึงคุณ” และสิ่งที่ผมอยากทำมากที่สุดคือ การไปที่ประเทศไทย ได้เดินออกจากสนามบินเพื่อไปยังที่จัดงานคอนเสิร์ตครับ

อึนฮยอก: ผมอยากไปบอกกับทุกคนให้ได้ครับว่า “ห้องน้ำอยู่ไหนครับ”

English interview

 

10 years ago, one of the very first K-POP group who has been widely known for Thai people, even for the non K-POP fans, was definitely SUPER JUNIOR. With 13 members, which is a surprised number of members in the K-POP group and also with various concepts depend on member’s styles, made SUPER JUNIOR is one of the group who had a lot of sub-units, including SUPER JUNIOR-D&E consisted of the two best friend; DONGHAE and EUNHYUK. They also haven’t imagined that this is going to be a 10-year-long unit.

Sanook Music has a chance to interview them about the concept of their latest album, COUNTDOWN, how they improved themselves through being an idol for 16 years and the unforgettable moment with Thai E.L.F to remind their love to the fans before they come to meet Thai E.L.F. in person when the pandemic relief.

Why did you name the new SUPER JUNIOR-D&E album as “COUNTDOWN”?

DONGHAE: We talked about releasing a total of 10 contents. Counting backwards, starting from 10 to 0. Then when we reach “ZERO”, we will have a fresh start again as SUPER JUNIOR-D&E. That’s the reason behind why we named this album “COUNTDOWN” and why there’s an hourglass next to the title of our released contents, and a countdown from 10, 9, 8, 7… and so on.

ZERO has the meaning of restart or reset to the beginning. Do you have anything that you want to restart and why?

DONGHAE: Reset and turn back time into the past?

EUNHYUK: I don’t want to reset anything.

DONGHAE: Me neither.

EUNHYUK: I’ve come a long way to establish what I have now. If I have to do everything all over again from the beginning, I think it’ll be too difficult.

DONGHAE: That’s also true. I think everything happens for a reason. There is a reason behind how we started and how we’ve been active for the past 10 years. So, I don’t need to reset or restart anything.

EUNHYUK: We have no regrets.

DONGHAE: If we release our next album, I’ll try making it better. But I don’t have anything that I would like to start over.

EUNHYUK: Yes.

You both write many good songs. What’s your favorite song from each other?

DONGHAE: For me, it’s the song “be”.

EUNHYUK: Oh “be”. That’s great.

DONGHAE: It’s got a new style to it, so I like the song “be” nowadays

EUNHYUK: If I have to choose one from our new album, The song “Home”…

DONGHAE: Yes. “Home”.

EUNHYUK: The song “Home”… I like it a lot.

DONGHAE: Thank you.

EUNHYUK: It’s a ballad song and I hope everyone listens to it.

What’s your favorite song to sing live at a concert?

DONGHAE: It breaks my heart to pick just one song… Because we love all of our songs.

EUNHYUK: Yes.

DONGHAE: It’s always the hardest when we need to come up with the concert setlist.

EUNHYUK: True.

DONGHAE: There are songs that our E.L.F. wants to listen and songs we’d like to perform for the fans.

EUNHYUK: That’s always our concern. So, I’d like to perform all the songs we’ve haven’t performed yet, to show the fans as a medley version.

DONGHAE: Wow, that sounds tiring.

EUNHYUK: I’d like to perform all of our songs to the fans.

It has been 16 years since you both debuted as an idol in SUPER JUNIOR. In what ways do you think you’ve grown up? Are there any areas would you like to get better at?

EUNHYUK: Musically, DONGHAE has written so many songs for both SUPER JUNIOR and SUPER JUNIOR-D&E. I think he has improved a lot in his music skill ฟnd I’m looking forward to his music in the future.

DONGHAE: For EUNHYUK, he really thinks a lot about the album, writes a lot of lyrics and rap verses. But I think he’s improved so much on directing. And he is expanding his knowledge in many areas.

Apart from Pattaya Music Festival as your first overseas concert, What are the most unforgettable moments you both had in Thailand or with Thai fans?

DONGHAE: The airport is amazing.

EUNHYUK: And I remembered the space in front of Siam Paragon.

DONGHAE: Ahh.

EUNHYUK: When we had a fan meeting or fan sign event. I remembered seeing so many Thai E.L.F. there.

DONGHAE: Yes.

After the pandemic ends, if you have a chance to come to Thailand, what would you want to do in Thailand and what would you like to say to them?

DONGHAE: Surely, I’d like to say “I miss you” and what I want to do the most, of course, is going to Thailand and walking out of the airport to go to the concert venue.

EUNHYUK: I’d like to say to you all “Where’s the toilet?” (in Thai).

เคยไหมคะ? ทุกครั้งที่ต้องเขียนอีเมล จะเจอกับปัญหาไม่รู้จะเขียนยังไงดี ซึ่งสามารถดูประโยคที่ใช้เขียนอีเมลได้ที่นี่ หรือ องค์ประกอบในการเขียนอีเมลที่ต้องรู้ได้ที่นี่ 

 

และอีกปัญหาที่พบบ่อยคือ การเลือกคำขึ้นต้นหรือลงท้ายประโยคไม่ถูก บางท่านอาจจะเลือกใส่คำที่ตัวเองคุ้นชิน และใช้เป็นประจำลงท้ายอีเมลอยู่เสมอ อย่างเช่นคำว่า Best regards แปลว่า ด้วยความเคารพ ซึ่งเป็นคำลงท้ายที่ค่อนข้างเป็นทางการมาก ๆ 

 

ถ้าหากใช้ Best regards ลงท้ายอีเมลที่เป็นทางการหรืองานธุรกิจ ก็ถือว่าโอเคเลยค่ะ แต่ในทางกลับกัน ถ้าลงท้ายในอีเมลไม่เป็นทางการ หรือส่งหาคนสนิท ก็จะดูแปลกและไม่เข้ากับสถานการณ์นั่นเองค่ะ

 

นอกจากคำลงท้ายประโยคที่ต้องใส่ใจแล้ว คำขึ้นต้นก็ละเลยไม่ได้เช่นเดียวกัน เพราะต้องเลือกให้เข้ากับคำลงท้าย และเข้ากับสถานการณ์ด้วยค่ะ เช่น

คำที่คนส่วนใหญ่มักเลือกใช้ลงท้ายอีเมลคือคำว่า Best regards แปลว่า ด้วยความเคารพ แต่ถ้าใช้บ่อย ๆ อาจจะดูน่าเบื่อ และจำเจ ถ้าหากใครถนัดใช้ Best regards อยู่แล้ว อาจลองเปลี่ยนไปใช้คำอื่นดูบ้าง ก็เป็นความคิดที่ดี และได้เพิ่มคลังคำศัพท์ด้วยค่ะ
