  1. BS only matters when people buy it! What really bothers me is when bozos like this guy telling you the nitty gritty, but, fails to mention that for Audio Systems, the effects are negligible. Copper is a base element! 100% Copper cannot have any other element mixed in with it, thus, it cannot be called anything but Copper. What happens after exposure is a whole different story. So, when cable manufacturers make their cables, are they suggesting that their cladding material is porous? Now here another simple question to ask….. Why coat a connector part with Gold? Copper is rated as having100% conductivity. The conductivity of Gold is around 72%. Go figure! Maybe the slick marketing phrases makes some pay more for it – perhaps, to pay the salary of people to make a YouTube video.

  2. Video should be entitled something like "Copper vs. Aluminum Wiring for Car Audio Systems." Sonic Electronix is not an unbiased source of information because they have a vested interest in selling stuff. That's why after setting you up with a discussion about copper-clad aluminum and trying to establish credibility and trustworthiness by stating that "OFC won't improve your sound quality," it launches into an pitch about the benefits of OFC. This has nothing to do with aluminum, but everything to do with selling OFC. Why else would the home screen depict a frayed and dirty bit of stranded copper cable, and later on show an oxidized penny (Lord knows where it's been), the Statue of Liberty (standing exposed to the elements in NY Harbor for almost 135 years), and a corroded car battery (the result of hydrogen gas being released from the sulfuric acid inside), none of which is presumably made from the superior OFC, but rather the inferior non-OFC? The photos are used deceptively to sell OFC. Good try, guys, but I call BS.

  3. I fail to see how improving you cabling so it can pass more current will reduce the strain on your vehicle's electrical system, if you give your amps the potential to pull even more current through Tue power cable your actually increasing the strain on your cars electrical system but I digress

  4. crap. I just bought OFC copper 10 gauge when I should have gotten 8 gauge for only 20% more cost (interior home subwoofer cable)
    thanks for the vid.
I'll remember it if I install a car stereo.

  5. Wait so if the aluminum heats up from Electricity from the battery does that wasted energy turned into heat causing less power to reach am which is why some people noticed a difference because of copper being more efficient for power flow

  6. Another important thing to keep in mind is that if you are planning to run anything above 2 gauge or 1 gauge, OFC wire is so much easier to work with and make turns with for tight connections.

  7. All these people bragging about running welding cable, and they don't even know that 90% of it is NOT ofc.. I've got a bunch of different brands with inch cuts offs, the only one that changed color was the welding wire.. shy high ofc didn't change color.. and of course my tinned xspower superflex and tinned knu didn't change color either.. welding cable is cheaper because it's not ofc
