  1. Hi Sarah, would you please tell me which tense is correct for the scenario below:
The lights went out in my house suddenly. The electric service came back after a short while.
    My son asked: What's happened?
I replied: There was a power cut because the socket IS or WAS broken.
(An electrician will be coming tomorrow to fix it).
I'm not sure whether to use is or was in that sentence. Please advise.

  2. Hi Sarah, sometimes I struggle when to use past simple or past continuous. For example:
1)What did you do in the kitchen? OR what were you doing in the kitchen?
    2) What did you say to her? OR what were you saying to her?

Would you tell me which is the correct sentence in two examples above? Many thanks!

  3. Madam,
    If conditions 1 examples
1)If you don't study ,you could fail in the exam.
2)if you don't listen to him,you could face his wrath.
3)if you don't come soon, you could miss the bus.

In the if conditional 1 can we use (could usage)?

    If conditions 2 examples
    1)when I was young, i could swim.
2)He could go to the concert if you gave him your ticket.

  7. Hi Sarah, I really enjoyed your presentation. At first I was a bit disappointing as this grammar area seemed too easy and familiar but it wasn't. I particularly admired the term "time flag". It made me smile. All course books say "adverbial modifiers of time". Isn't it boring ?! Thanks 😊 for the lesson.
