im still confused of how to determine “to” as a preposition with “to” as in to infinitive

-I look forward to seeing you.
She objected to marrying him,because she learnt him dirty past.
-Humanity have been used to staying at home amid Pandemic restrictions.
-I prefer doing something doing nothing.
-After he hadn't got round to saying he love her,he was killed in an car accident.
-I always wanted to learn new languages.
-Natural environment needs to be treated.
-They would like to be lifted restrictions.I told them what did you recommend slowing the spread foolishs.
-I have been moody to live in the home.

I prefer self-studying to watching your videos.

I kept trying to remember the name of the presenter while watching the video, but I couldn't. Apart from the topic of the video, I always like to listen to THIS British accent of you guys at BBC learning English. I would kindly request you to make programmes which are similar to the old Talk about English, ones that are a bit long, comprehensive, and have much English. I am one of those who learned a lot from these valuable materials. I also miss Callum, William, and Jacky voices ❤❤❤. You are all amazing.

Hi Dan, so there is no rule to determine what to use.
The verbs you mentioned are so common and most learners know them, but the question is: is there a list of these verbs? Is it a big list?
The case is not easy all the time because sometimes we come across some phrases that confuse us, for example
There were some hurdles 'to playing' or 'to play' soccer on this pitch.
What about using ' to' as a preposition or as an infinitive after nouns or adjectives?

I prefer speaking English to learning grammar. I’d like to study abroad after graduating ,so I should learn English as often as I can,even make it a daily routine. I believe each effort is a stepping stone to my final achievement-becoming a good teacher.I object to people talking loudly in public which makes me annoyed so that I can’t focus on my works.
