[NEW] Grammar ใครว่ายาก? Like กับ As ใช้ต่างกันอย่างไร | particularly คือ – NATAVIGUIDES

As

และ

Like

ในภาษาอังกฤษ

like เป็นคำบุพบท (preposition) เราจะใช้คำนี้ในกรณีที่ประโยคที่ตามมาด้านหลังไม่มีคำกิริยา ส่วนมากจะถูกตามด้วยคำนาม หรือ สรรพนาม โดยรูปประโยคของการใช้ like จะเป็นดังนี้ค่ะ

VERB + LIKE + NOUN / PRONOUN.

ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

It’s hot in this room. It’s like an oven!.  ห้องนี้ร้อนจริงๆ มันเหมือนกับเตาอบเลย

He speaks like a native speaker. เขาพูดเหมือนเจ้าของภาษา

as เป็นคำสันธาน ( conjunction) เราจะใช้ในกรณีที่ประโยคซึ่งตามมาประกอบไปด้วยคำกิริยา โดยรูปประโยคการใช้ as จะเป็นดังนี้

AS + CLAUSE (SUBJECT + VERB)

ตัวอย่างประโยคเช่น

As I told you, the meeting started at 3pm. เหมือนที่ผมบอก การประชุมเริ่มเมื่อตอนบ่าย 3 โมง

Nobody sings as she does. ไม่มีใครร้องเพลงได้เหมือนเธอ

แต่อย่างไรก็ดียังมีบางกรณีที่การใช้ as ก็ไม่ต้องตามด้วยประโยคที่มีกิริยา โดยหากประโยคนั้นเกี่ยวกับงาน/บทบาท ของบุคคลหรือสิ่งต่าง ๆ เช่น

He started work as a carpenter. เขาเริ่มทำงานเป็นช่างไม้

ที่น่าสนใจอีกประการหนึ่ง คือ ในภาษาอังกฤษแบบอเมริกัน เรามักพบการใช้  like แทน as เป็นเรื่องปกติ (เมื่อใช้ในรูปแบบที่ไม่เป็นทางการ)

ข้อควรระวังในการแปลความหมาย

As

และ

Like

As your boss, I must warn you to be careful. จากประโยคนี้ ผู้พูดซึ่งเป็นหัวหน้า กว่าเตือนคุณให้ระมัดระวัง

Like your boss, I must warn you to be careful.  จากประโยคนี้ ผู้พูดไม่ใช่หัวหน้า แต่กล่าวเตือนให้คุณระมัดระวังเนื่องจากมีความเห็นเช่นเดียวกันกับหัวหน้า

พิเศษ

การใช้

AS IF

AS IF เป็นคำเชื่อมใช้ในการเชื่อมกลุ่มคำหรือประโยคเข้าด้วยกัน โดยความหมายของมันก็คือ “ราวกับว่า” หรือ ”เสมือนหนึ่งว่า” โดยคำนี้มีหลักการใช้ที่ต้องจำไว้ให้ขึ้นใจ ดังนี้ค่ะ

  1. กริยาที่ตามหลัง

    AS IF

    จะอยู่ในรูปอดีตเสมอ ไม่ว่ารูปประโยคหลักจะเป็น Tense ใด

  2. ถ้า verb to be ตามหลัง

    AS IF

    , เราต้องใช้

    were

     เสมอ ไม่ว่าสรรพนามจะเป็นใคร(he she it)

  • He looks

    as if

     he knew the answer.

(จากประโยคเป็นรูปปัจจุบัน สังเกตุจากกริยา LOOKS – แต่คำกริยาที่ตามหลัง AS IF จะอยู่ในรูปอดีตเสมอ knew ).

  • She walks

    as if

     she were a supermodel.

(Verb to be ที่ตามหลัง AS IF จะถูกเปลี่ยนเป็น were เสมอ   x was).

  • He boarded the airplane

    as if

     he were a seasoned traveller.

  • He spends money

    as if

     he owned a bank.

Learn how to pronounce Particularly
This is the English pronunciation of the word Particularly.
According to Wikipedia, this is one of the possible definitions of the word \”Particularly\”:
In metaphysical philosophy, particulars are concrete entities existing in space and time as opposed to abstractions. There are, however, theories of abstract particulars or tropes. For example, Socrates is a particular (there’s only one SocratestheteacherofPlato and one cannot make copies of him, e.g., by cloning him, without introducing new, distinct particulars). Redness, by contrast, is not a particular, because it is abstract and multiply instantiated (my bicycle, this apple, and that woman’s hair are all red).
Sybil Wolfram writes
Particulars include only individuals of a certain kind: as a first approximation individuals with a definite place in space and time, such as persons and material objects or events, or which must be identified through such individuals, like smiles or thoughts.
Some terms are used by philosophers with a roughandready idea of their meaning. This can occur if there is lack of agreement about the best definition of the term. In formulating a solution to the problem of universals, the term ‘particular’ can be used to describe the particular instance of redness of a certain apple as opposed to the ‘universal’ ‘redness’ (being abstract). See also typetoken distinction
The term particular is also used as a modern equivalent of the Aristotelian notion of individual substance. Used in this sense, particular can mean any concrete (individual) entity, irrespective of whether it is spatial and temporal or not.

How good are you with money? What about reading people’s emotions? How healthy are you, compared to other people you know? Knowing how our skills stack up against others is useful in many ways. But psychological research suggests that we’re not very good at evaluating ourselves accurately. In fact, we frequently overestimate our own abilities. David Dunning describes the DunningKruger effect.
