ส่วนเพลงนี้เป็นผลงานของคุณ Michael ค่ะ ปล่อยออกมาเมื่อห้าปีที่แล้ว หรือก็คือตอนปี 2014 นั่นเอง เป็นเพลงแนว R&B/Soul ทำให้ฟังง่าย เรื่อย ๆ และได้ vibe ที่ออกแนวฟังเพลินขณะกำลังขับรถ road trip ค่ะ

ได้เคยกล่าวถึง Present Perfect (เพเซ่นทฺ เพอเฟ็กทฺ) และ Past Simple (พาสทฺ ซิมเพิล) มาแล้ว

เพื่อเป็นการทบทวนรูป (form ฟอม) ของทั้ง 2 tenses นี้จะขอสรุปเฉพาะ ภาคกริยาช่วย และกริยาแท้ไว้ดังนี้คือ
ก. Present Perfect
กริยาช่วย have / has
กริยาแท้ past participle (หรือ Verb ช่อง 3)
have/has + past participle

ข. Past Simple
กริยาช่วยช่อง 2/กริยาแท้ช่อง 2

ต่อไปนี้ จะขอกล่าวเชิงเปรียบเทียบการใช้ระหว่าง Past Perfect และ Past Simple เพื่อท่านผู้อ่านจะได้สามารถแยกแยะความแตกต่างได้โดยชัดเจน
1. การกระทำที่เริ่มเกิดขึ้นในอดีตและดำเนินมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน (an activity which started in the past and continues up to the present) กับการกระทำที่เริ่มและจบสิ้นในอดีต (an activity which started and finished in the past)
ตัวอย่าง
I have lived in Bangkok for ten years.
ผมอาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ มาเป็นเวลา 10 ปีแล้ว (ตอนนี้ก็ยังอาศัยอยู่)
I lived in Bangkok for 10 years.
ผมได้อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ 10 ปี(ตอนนี้ไม่ได้อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ แล้ว)

อธิบาย ในตัวอย่างที่ 1 เป็นการกล่าวถึงการกระทำที่เริ่มขึ้นในอดีตและ ดำเนินมาจนถึงปัจจุบันครบ 10 ปีแล้ว ขณะนี้ก็ยังอยู่ ยังมิได้ย้ายไปไหนจึงใช้ Present Perfect ส่วนในประโยคที่ 2 เป็นการกล่าวถึงการกระทำที่เริ่มต้นและจบสิ้นไปแล้วในอดีต ตอนนี้ย้ายไปอยู่ที่อื่นแล้ว จึงใช้ Past Simple

2. ผลของการกระทำในอดีตที่เกี่ยวเนื่องถึงปัจจุบัน (the result of a past action that is connected to the present)
ตัวอย่าง
I have lost my wallet.
ผมทำกระเป๋าเงินหาย(จนถึงบัดนี้ก็ยังไม่ได้คืนมา)
I lost my wallet, but I have got it back now.
ผมทำกระเป๋าเงินหาย แต่ตอนนี้ได้คืนมาแล้ว

อธิบาย ในตัวอย่างที่ 1 กล่าวถึงผลของการกระทำที่ใด้เกิดขึ้นในอดีต และยังมีผลเกี่ยวเนื่องมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน จึงใช้ Present Perfect ส่วนในตัวอย่างที่ 2 กล่าวถึงในอดีต และตอนนี้ได้คืนมาแล้ว จึงใช้ Past Simple

3. การแจ้งข่าว (to announce news) กับการให้รายละเอียดของข่าว (to give details of the news)
ตัวอย่าง
Someone has stolen my bike.
มีคนลักขโมยรถจักรยานยนต์ของดิฉันไป
I left the bike outside the Saveland Department Store for a few minutes and when I came back, it wasn’t there.
ดิฉันจอดจักรยานไว้นอกห้างสรรพสินค้าเซฟแลนด์เป็นเวลา 2-3 นาที พอดิฉันกลับออกมา จักรยานก็ไม่ได้อยู่ที่นั่นแล้ว

อธิบาย ในตัวอย่างที่ 1 ผู้หญิงรายหนึ่งแจ้งว่า “มีคนลักขโมยจักรยาน ของเธอไป” เธอยังไม่ได้จักรยานคืนมา จึงใช้ Present Perfect ส่วนในตัวอย่างที่ 2 ผู้หญิงคนดังกล่าวได้ให้รายละเอียดกับตำรวจว่า เธอได้จอดจักรยานไว้นอกห้างเซฟแลนด์ พอกลับออกมาก็พบว่าจักรยานได้หายไปแล้ว จึงใช้ Past Simple

4. การกระทำที่เกิดขึ้นในอดีตถึงปัจจุบัน แต่ไม่ระบุเวลาแน่นอน (an action in the past up to the present with an indefinite time) กับการกระทำที่เกิดและจบสิ้นในอดีตที่ระบุเวลาแน่นอน (an action in the past with a definite time)
ตัวอย่าง
I have started taking driving lessons recently.
ผมเริ่มเรียนขับรถเมื่อเร็วๆ นี้
I started taking driving lessons a week ago.
ผมได้เรียนขับรถเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา

อธิบาย ในตัวอย่างที่ 1 คำว่า recently (ริเซ็นลิ) แปลว่า “เมื่อเร็วๆ นี้” มิได้ระบุเวลาแน่นอนว่าเมื่อไร จึงใช้ Present Perfect ซึ่งมีคำอื่นๆ อีกที่ไม่ระบุเวลาแน่นอน ที่ใช้ tense นี้เช่นเดียวกับ recently ได้แก่ ever (เอเวอะ = เคย นิยม ใช้ในรูปประโยคคำถาม), never (เนเวอะ =ไม่เคย), lately (เลทลิ = เมื่อเร็วๆ นี้), already (ออลริดิ = เรียบร้อยแล้ว), yet (เย็ท = หรือยัง ใช้เป็น adverb วาง ไว้ท้ายประโยคคำถามหรือปฏิเสธ) ส่วนในตัวอย่างที่ 2 คำว่า a week ago (เออะ วีค เออะโก) ระบุเวลาไว้แน่นอนแล้ว จึงใช้ Past Simple ซึ่งมีคำอื่นๆ ที่ระบุเวลา แน่นอนที่ใช้ tense นี้เช่นเดียวกับ ago ได้แก่ yesterday (เยสเทอะเดย์ = เมื่อ วานนี้), last week (ลาสทฺ วีค = สัปดาห์ที่แล้ว), last month (ลาสทฺ มันธฺ = เดือนที่แล้ว), last year (ลาสทฺ เยีย = ปีที่แล้ว) เป็นต้น

5. ช่วงเวลาของการกระทำนั้นยังไม่สิ้นสุด (the periods of time of that action are not finished) กับช่วงเวลาที่ได้เกิดการกระทำนั้นๆ ได้จบสิ้นไปแล้ว (the periods of time of that action are finished)
ตัวอย่าง
I have seen Peter this morning.
ผมได้เจอปีเตอร์เช้านี้ (ตอนนี้ก็ยังเป็นเวลาเช้าอยู่)
I saw Peter this morning.
ผมได้เจอปีเตอร์เช้านี้ (ตอนนี้เลยเวลาเช้าไปแล้ว อาจจะเป็นบ่าย,
เย็น, หรือค่ำ)

อธิบาย ในกรณีของตัวอย่างทั้งสองที่ยกมา อาจจะใช้รูป Present Perfect หรือ Past Simple ก็ได้ โดยปกติหากรู้แน่นอนว่ายังเป็นช่วงเวลานั้นๆ ตามที่เอ่ยขึ้นมา ก็ใช้ Present Perfect ได้ แต่ถ้าถามว่าจะใช้ Past Simple ได้ไหม คำตอบคือ ได้ด้วยเช่นกัน ดังเช่นกรณีตัวอย่างที่ 2 ทั้งนี้ต้องอาศัยช่วงเวลาเป็นตัวกำหนด

กล่าวโดยสรุป Present Perfect ใช้แสดงการกระทำที่มีการต่อเนื่อง (continuing actions) ส่วน Past Simple ใช้แสดงการกระทำที่ได้สิ้นสุดไปแล้ว (finished actions)
