คำศัพท์ การใช้ ตัวอย่าง

Here

– ใช้ here เมื่อคุณต้องการบอกว่าหาอะไรบางอย่าง – Where’s my bag?
– It’s here!
– Here it is! – here หมายถึงบางสิ่งที่อยู่ใกล้ตัวคุณ – Is your dad here?
– Yes, he is.

There

– ใช้ there เพื่อบอกว่ามีอยู่ – There’s a cafe, a bank, a shop and a park in the town. – ใช้ there เพื่อบอกจำนวนของสิ่งที่มีอยู่ – There are three people in my family.
– There are ten students in the class. – ใช้ there เพื่อบอกตำแหน่งของสิ่งของ – There is a bathroom opposite the bedroom.
– There’s a cash machine near the cafe. – ใช้ there หรือ over there เพื่อบอกว่าสิ่งนั้นไม่ได้อยู่ใกล้คุณ – Where’s my bag?
– It’s over there, near the door.

กฎการใช้มีดังต่อไปนี้

1. ใช้ here/there กับ verb to be (is/am/are) เช่น
– Here is your bag.
– Your bags are here.
– There is a nice restaurant in town.
– There are some good shops in town.

2. สามารถใช้รูปย่อ is หลัง here/there ได้ แต่ไม่สามารถใช้รูปย่อ are ได้
– Here is Joe! => Here’s Joe!
– There is a great café near here. => There’s a great café near here.
– Here are your bags! => Here’re your bags.
– There are three kids in my family. => There’re three kids in my family.

3. เปลี่ยนเป็นประโยคคำถามโดยสลับ there กับ verb to be (is/am/are) ได้
– Is there a nice restaurant in town?
– Are there any good shops in town?
– How many shops are there in the town?

จุดที่มักใช้ผิดบ่อย คือ

1. ไม่ชอบใช้ there เพื่อว่ามีอยู่ เช่น
– A restaurant is in my town. => There is a restaurant in my town.
– Ten students are in my class. => There are ten students in my class.

2. ชอบลืมสลับ there กับ verb to be ในประโยคคำถาม
– How many students there are in your class? => How many students are there in your class?

It  Its  It’s  มันใช้ไม่เหมือนกันนะ

เคยเป็นกันไหมที่บางทีเราก็เขียน Its  กับ It’s  สลับกัน  หรือเผลอลืมเติม apostrophe s ไป ทำให้กลายเป็น Its  ซึ่งมันใช้ต่างกันเลย

It  ตัวธรรมดาตัวนี้เป็นคำสรรพนาม  ใช้แทน สัตว์หรือสิ่งของหรือสถานที่  ซึ่งเราก็มักจะใช้กันบ่อยๆอยู่แล้ว  เช่น

• That shirt is very nice, but it is too expensive.

นอกจากนี้ it ยังใช้เป็นคำขึ้นต้นประโยคที่พูดถึงเรื่องสภาพอากาศ  หรือใช้ในโครงสร้าง

It is + adjective เช่น

• It is quite cold today.
• It is not easy to live alone.

หรือใช้ในประโยคที่เป็น passive voice เช่น

• It is said that……………
• It’s believed that…………..

ต่อมาคำว่า Its  เพิ่ม s เข้ามาตัวนึง  จะกลายเป็นคำแสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ แปลว่า “ของมัน”  เช่น      

• Do you know the place where we first met? I can’t remember its name.

Its name ในที่นี้หมายถึง the place’s name

• The school has to update its new schedule for a new semester.

Its ในที่นี้หมายถึง The school’s new schedule

ส่วนคำว่า it’s เป็นคำที่ย่อมาจาก it is หรือ it has   แล้วทีนี้คำถามคือเราจะแยกได้ยังไงว่า It’s ตัวนี้แทน it is หรือ it has  มันก็จะมีวิธีการสังเกตนิดหน่อยค่ะ

• It is มักจะตามด้วย  Ving / adjective / preposition/ noun

It has จะตามด้วย V3

เช่น

• It’s under the chair. (It’s = It is)
• It’s sleeping under the tree. (It’s = it is)
• It’s already started.  ( It’s = It has)
• John, pick up the phone. It’s rung for a long time. (it’s = it has)

แต่ในบางกรณี It’s ตามด้วย V3 ได้ในกรณีที่เป็น passive voice คือประธานถูกกระทำ  เช่น

• It’s found in the garden. = It is found in the garden.

พอจะเข้าใจความแตกต่างของการใช้ It  Its  It’s ทั้งสามตัวนี้แล้วใช่ไหมคะ  ถึงจะเขียนคล้ายๆกันแต่ก็ใช้ไม่เหมือนกันนะคะ
