Hi there! My name is Ruby and I’m making a series of videos on conditional sentences. In this video, we’re going to focus on Type 1 or First Conditional Sentences. Be ready to learn the form and functions of the first conditional.
If you’re a teacher like me, this follows the IDEA exemplar. I’ll indicate in this video the parts of the lesson. This is based on the G9 MELC: To use conditional sentences to express arguments. I decided to make one video per type so that students won’t be too overwhelmed with the topic.

There are 4 types of conditional sentences:
1. zero conditional sentence
2. Type 1 conditional sentence
3. Type2 conditional sentence
4. Type3 conditional sentence

This conditional sentence has two parts:
Part 1: condition. This sentence starts with either ‘If’ or ‘When’ and translated into Present indefinite tense.
Part 2: Result. This sentence is Translated into Future indefinite or by using modals like Can, May , Might, Should etc.

SITUATION
Ex: Agar barish hogi to tum gile ho jaoge.
Part 1 looks like Futre indefinite but will be translated into Present indefinite.
RULE[If/When + present indefinite], [Future indefinite]
Ex: If it rains, you will get wet.
If you molest her, her brother will kill you.
When she comes here, I will give her money.
