Many teachers say present perfect simple is focusing more on the activity itself, and that the action is completed.
For EX. I have cooked dinner.
It means I cooked it in the past and now it is ready.
But if I say
I have been cooking dinner. That means I started cooking in the past and I still cooking now.
Is that true?
Very very good madam .. thankyou
Very charm and decent teacher. No over actions. And the way she explains really clear and accurate! Thank u dear teacher! Hope to see more from u ❤️
perfect!
amazing explanation, very useful, many thanks.
When will be …. with – "had"?
The teacher is very good but in this case i got more confused. I thing that even native people know this kind of rules.
Hello, please if i say "" i wish i had never met you "" if i want to answer by using "" either or neither ! Since the nain verb is i wish and it is not negative, would it be correct if i answered "" me either "" ???
Thanks a lot !!
Lady, as a peer English teacher, I must say that, "I've lived here for 5 years" is NOT the SAME as "I've been living here for 5 years"!!! The reason for my statement is that one could have lived in a given place, NO LONGER Live there in the present or at current day, GO BACK there for a visit & say: "This is the place where I've lived for 5 years"…! Or, "I've lived here for 5 years". That does NOT mean that the action is TRUE or ONGOING in the PRESENT (save the fact that it was perfected/completed in the past & its results are connected to or manifest in the present day!). "I have been living g=here for 5 years" however, DOES NECESSARILY SUGGEST or INDICATE that the action is STILL ONGOING & TRUE to the present day! 🙂
Thank you.
